Last weekend we had the privilege to be able to drive down to San Diego which is about an hour and forty five minutes away from Garden Grove. We went to the Qualcomm Stadium for the University of Utah vs San Diego State football game. For those of you who don't know this is the stadium that the San Diego Chargers as well as San Diego State play in. It is a big stadium and was amazed at how many people actually traveled from Utah just to support the Utes. It rained that night and I got soaked. At the beginning of the game I was starting to feel little under the weather. Let's just say that towards the end of the night I had puked twice and was ready to go home. Despite my illness it was a fun game to watch especially when you know the players. My husband's cousins play for the University of Utah. Zeek's cousins' Matt and Shawn are brothers and this year they have had the honor of playing with each other. I always thought it would be awesome to play with my sibling. If only Mariel was around the same age as me!! The dynamics they have is incredible. It's one thing to work hard and make every play count but when it is your brother you are blocking for you make sure that you do everything in your power to make great plays. I was able to witness the amazing chemistry they have on the field. The plays they make go unnoticed to the untrained eye but throughout the whole game Matt and Shawn made crucial plays as well as tackles. They play smart and it's nice to see good football being played. Sometimes it can get frustrating when the team lacks a quarterback or a defensive back but when others pull their weight or make up for a mistake, it is quite rewarding especially when a win is included in the end result.
