Insomnia!!

I don't know what it is but for almost three weeks I haven't been able to sleep at night. When everyone is knocked out, I lay in bed restless which leads to irritation and then I end up in our living room browsing the web and doing nothing productive. I haven't been able to pin point what it is that may be keeping me up. Isaiah asked me a few times what was wrong and if something was on my mind but I couldn't give him an answer! Usually I can't sleep because I'm mad or sad but the past few weeks, I just can't sleep. I have a bad case of insomnia and it's hit me like a ton of bricks. I've been running on one to two hours of sleep and REALLY REALLY wish I could sleep. I've been trying to use up energy by running the hills we have going up to our apartment but it just gives me more of an energy boost.
On a positive note, Nana and Papa are here for a week. We took a nice Sunday drive and ended up in another small town called Maggie Valley. We went to this restaurant and had really good burgers. Our server was awesome and Jack and Kendric were having a blast being out of the house! I wish that I remembered the name of the restaurant and I forgot my phone so I didn't get any pictures. (Maybe that brain fart has something to do with the lack of sleep.) I love seeing our boys with their grandparents. It's a great feeling to see their relationship grow! Jack was so happy to see his Papa and of course thinks we're invisible now. I'm glad they are here and they will be able to take the boys and spend some much needed quality time AND I will be able to get some ME time! I love my boys but it will be nice to be able to run stairs during the day and not at night or workout without little hands and feet grabbing my shirt or little voices screaming for attention. Besides the fact that I haven't been able to sleep I am glad my in-laws are here and will enjoy their company along with the little break I will have!! Hope you all have been sleeping well, have a great week!

  1. As a mom I testify that "ME" time is sooooo needed. I makes me think of that story about a parent on an airplane...yo have to put the oxygen on yourself before you can help others. But it is so easy to forget. And date night is just as important as ME time...make sure you get one of those in while the grandparents are there :) Love ya!

  2. Try melatonin for sleeping! It's an all-natural substance that regulates the sleep-wake cycle in a safe way. I recently tried it and it has been a life saver for those couple of nights I have had the same problems. You can just get it at the grocery store too!

  3. Oh yes Kristy you are definitely right! With football Isaiah is so beat when he comes home from football so maybe I'll find a place that does massages because I could go for one of those too!!
