Color Run!!

Last Saturday I was able to run in LA's Color Run at Dodger Stadium.
This was the first time I have ever done something like this. When I was in North Carolina I made it a goal of mine to run a 5k. I wasn't able to do one last year because the run that I signed up for in December postponed the race to May 2013. I was really bummed but got online and saw info on the Color Run. It looked like so much fun so I signed up for it.
I didn't train as much as I should have but I survived it. I was really proud of myself just because this was out of my comfort zone. I'm used to playing on sports teams as opposed to an individual sport. I liked it because I had to push myself and talk myself through it. I was running next to a cute couple and her husband was pushing her. Whenever she wanted to stop he would tell her to keep going and just helped her. It was really awesome.
It was a great environment and people were so happy. I loved running and watching everyone stop at certain spots to take pictures.
I did this race by myself and was more focused on running the whole way. There's another one in Irvine in May and I am so ready to run it.
I've caught the running bug and want to find more marathons.
By the end of the year or beginning of next year I want to enter a half marathon. I'll keep taking baby steps and for now I'll enjoy these 5k's.

Here are some photos from the event!!

{They have Color Run fever too}

{Kenny is ready for the race!!}
{Got my gear the night before the race.}

{This was my before photo}

{We were definitely sleepy and it shows!!}

{My biggest supporter and lover boy!!}

{The craziness was just beginning}

{I raced with Elvis}

{There were over 20,000 people at the race}

{I finished!!}

{Tired, sweaty, blasted with color and finished the race in 30 minutes.}
 My goal was to finish in less than a half hour but I'm super competitive so I want to average my mile time at 8 minutes. With that said, it looks like I have some work to do!!

It was great to finish and as soon as I saw Isaiah towards the finish line, I pushed myself even harder. I loved the fact that it was all me. I had to really dig deep and find it within myself to stay focused and as much as I wanted to stop, I didn't.

I'm ready to do another one soon. I'll keep you all posted!! Have a great day!
