Growing up I always felt confident and comfortable with being ME.
There wasn't a single person who could tear me down especially after what I had been through in my household, my family issues, my mom and dad's divorce, blah, blah, blah.
My senior year of high school, I graduated 5 months pregnant.
Having a child at such an early age pretty much threw me into adulthood.
Of course because I was so active, after having Hola, my body bounced right back.
Fast forward six years later.
I was married and having my second baby, this time around was a lot harder to lose the baby weight.
After all I did have back to back babies.
They were 12 months and 20 days apart.
I was at my worst (and heaviest) and felt like I had hit rock bottom when we lived in North Carolina.
I was not confident.
I constantly tried to hide myself in clothes.
I never felt comfortable.
After my husband stopped playing football, he helped jump start my weight loss journey.
We started eating better and ate 5-6 times a day.
We ate smaller portions of lean meats and vegetables.
We stopped eating out.
I slowly but surely started to workout again.
At first I would try to do workouts on Netflix and could only last 12 minutes out of 30.
It was hard and I would beat myself up especially being an athlete and playing sports.
Being fat was not supposed to happen to me.
Or so I thought.
It was definitely a harsh reality I had to go through.
In 2011, I set a goal for myself that I would run a 5k.
In February, I reached my goal and ran my first 5k ever.
I did Insanity and a detox the beginning of the year.
Insanity is no joke and I loved it.
I could feel my legs start to tone up and I was getting stronger.
I didn't finish it because I started training for my first half marathon.
After my half marathon, I learned that strength training is key in running so I am starting Insanity over again and will start Body Beast in a week.
It's been a long road to being comfortable in my own skin.
I can honestly say that because I've started doing things to get myself fit and healthy, I've become more confident and am loving the skin that I am in.
I'm nowhere near where I want to be but you better believe I'll get there soon.
I don't beat myself up anymore over weight.
If I have set backs, I pick myself up and try again.
I will never quit.
I've been blessed to find amazing people who are supportive and have helped me along the way.
I am proud to announce with that being said, I've become a beach body coach.
You can check out my website here.
I'm teaming up with a friend and will be starting a FREE 5 day fitness/nutrition challenge soon.
