Back to Basics

Life lately has been really hectic.
We have been busy and I don't see us slowing down any time soon.
I'm not complaining because I am glad that we are still breathing.
The last couple months were rough.
We faced trials but knew that with faith and perseverance, we'd push through.
With these small trials, our family has been able to see many great blessings unfold.
There's always a refreshing feeling after General Conference.
If you're not sure what that is, please click on the link here to find out more about it.
But to explain a little bit about LDS General Conference,
my church gets together every six months to listen to the inspired words from living prophets, seers and revelators.
For the last 3 years, I thought I'd try something new before watching or listening to General Conference.
I decided to write a couple questions down in my journal before conference and then would ponder these questions, I prayed for inspiration and for me to have an open heart. I would then listen to conference to see if I could get answers.
They were simple like, how do I raise my children in such a crazy world, how can I strengthen my marriage or this is a kicker, how can I feel significant (read this, goes hand in hand with the significance thing.)
and lo and behold, I was given a few tips and things that I could do to strengthen my love, faith and testimony of Christ.
I can honestly say that I know God knows all of the desires of my heart.
He feels my sorrows, joys and He knows my strength.
I am grateful to have an amazing husband and wonderful children.
No matter what happens in my life, I know that God is watching over me.
He has my best interest at heart, no matter what it may be, He knows that's what is best for me.
I am grateful to have a relationship with my Father in Heaven and I love nourishing it.
I love soaking up gospel principles and building a firm foundation for me and my family.
My testimony continues to grow and my faith is built through my tribulations.
How lost I would be if I didn't have this gospel in my life.
I am forever grateful to know the truth.
What are some basics you feel like you could get back to?
What are some ways you can savor all of life's goodness?
Hope you are all having a great week so far!
