Motivational Monday

So it's a new year and I know everyone has new resolutions to be made and goals to be attained.
I've seen a few social media post where people make light of other's goals and new year's resolutions because they know the majority of them will die down just as quickly as they made their goals but I say, to each is their own.
Hey, if you start a goal and fizzle out a couple months in, that's okay because at least you're wanting to make changes.
I can't harp on you for trying and making that effort.
We are all different, we stay motivated and inspired in different ways.
Since today is the first Monday of the new year, I resolve to make it a point to blog more.
To write more because it is very therapeutic for me.
I'd have to say this is one of my greatest talents so why not continue to put it to use.
This post is special for me because this amazing woman has truly been supportive and has helped me along my journey.
As most of you know, I became a Beachbody coach in July.
I went out on a limb, didn't know anyone and not a lot about the company and signed up.
The only thing I knew was I started Insanity and it truly helped me with my weight loss.
The results alone were what sold me on becoming a coach.
I love helping people and felt this was the next step in my fitness journey.
Kim Zampogna was assigned as my upline coach.
She immediately contacted me and asked me questions and what I knew about this company.
She made the transition to becoming a coach so easy, has helped answer any questions I have and steered me in the right direction.
I truly feel that she is genuine and loves to help others.
She continues to motivate me although we're miles away, she continues to stay focused on team goals and how to further our potential as leaders and as coaches.
Without further ado, here is her story:
"I am a 33 year old wife, mother and friend.
I have been married almost 14 years.
I have an 18 year step daughter and 9 year old daughter.
Being a mom has always been my main focus.
I have always struggled with my weight/appearance.
When I was a teenager, I would do every diet from pills, to fad diets to the 'less healthy' approaches.
Anything other than eating healthy and exercising.
I despised working out or sweating.
When I was about 22, my husband and I tried the Body for Life method which taught me a lot about nutrition and exercise but we moved and I got pregnant.
After having my daughter, I was disgusted with my body but still REALLY didn't like working out.
I wore maternity clothes for 6-9 months after my daughter was born.
I gradually lost some weight but nothing tremendous and I still felt "fluffy."
Fast forward 7 years and I finally had ENOUGH!
My husband was going away for training for a month and I thought, "I am going to do this."
While he was gone, I woke up at 5 am and started working out.
I started P90X and LOVED it!
This was my breaking point, I found a program I liked and completed it.
I didn't stop after that one month goal.
I had started and stopped SO many programs that I didn't even tell my husband I was going to start.

After I finished P90X, I decided to challenge myself and do Insanity.
I am not a cardio girl so this pushed me to my limits but I saw amazing results.
I saw definition where I NEVER had before.
After doing two programs and mixing them up, I decided almost a year later to become a Beachbody coach.
Why not?
I thought this might help me stay accountable, maybe it would make me push a little harder and maybe I could make some money and I DID!
I have studied more on nutrition, I have completed more programs, I have made so many connections and new friends with becoming a coach.
My family drinks Shakeology daily (a nutrient dense shake), has helped me over a plateau, helped my husband get off cholesterol meds and has helped my mom get to her lowest cholesterol counts in fifteen years.
My husband has been my biggest supporter.
He has helped me more than I can even say, whether it is with my fitness/nutrition or my business.
He is always giving me advice or pushing me along.
It is so nice to have that support from someone I love, trust and I know he is honest with me.
I also can't thank Beachbody enough.
I have learned so much and continue to learn and grow.
This March, my husband and I will be going on a cruise thanks to Beachbody.
Our first vacation kid-free since our honeymoon!
I have HUGE goals for 2014.
I want to become a 5 star Diamond Coach with my business.
This not only means I am helping MY family but I am helping my coaches (<
I want others to really see what is possible and to help their families health wise or financially.
When you have been blessed, you want to help others.
You want to show them this IS possible.
My advice to anyone starting this fitness journey is simple.
Decide and go for it!
Make sure you have a plan.
Schedule your workouts, write out your meal plan for the week and NO EXCUSES!
If I can do this, anyone can.
Sounds cliche but it is so true.
I NEVER thought I would enjoy working out or eating healthy but I am and I have no plans on stopping.
Don't compare yourself to anyone else.
Challenge yourself and DO IT!
If you fall off the wagon just get back in it.
Don't beat yourself up and throw ALL of your hard work you have done away.
Get an accountability partner that can help push you and keep you on track."

Well said Kim!
I couldn't agree with you more!
I honestly believe that there are people placed in your life for a reason and that is how I feel with Kim.
I couldn't have asked for a better mentor and friend.
Thank you Kim for giving me the opportunity to spotlight you, you are amazing!
We're going nowhere but up.
Dream big, make scary goals and then execute.
It's that simple!
I hope you are all ready to show 2014 what's up because I know I am.
Have a great day everyone!
